Home Tour: A Luxurious Holiday Home in Lonavala (Part 1)
Welcome to the first of a series of home tours that divulge some of our thoughts, ideas, and design tips behind the houses we’ve styled.
The first is a contemporary vacation home in Lonavala with an open-plan living space that has been divided into a dining and two seating areas. Come and take a peek with us!
Dining Room
The first of the three spaces, the large dining area was already furnished with two quilted beige consoles on either side of a matching dining set. We gave it a fresh twist with gold accessories and various botanicals in statement vases and planters. The result is an elegant, airy space that’s cozy and refined - perfect for intimate family dinners as well as larger gatherings.
Some of the best console tables are those that use a little to say a lot! Here, two gold streaked vases on one end and a textured bowl on the other are all it takes to make a thoughtful statement. On the dining table, beautiful blooms (fresh or faux) are a must as they add color, liveliness, and grace to meals.
Formal Living Room
The formal living area is comprised of a seating arrangement that sparks conversation. This light-filled space is upholstered in soothing creams and punchy golds, and accessorized with lots of natural textures for a warm and inviting feel.
The most interesting vignettes are those that draw the eye in for a closer look. Textured vases that showcase just a few stems and purposefully displayed woven baskets are little aesthetic details that are both organic and eye-catching. The key to making your decor decisions look purposeful is playing with varying textures in similar tones.
Informal Living Room
Brimming with neutral, earthy hues and plenty of foliage indoors and out, the informal living is a refuge of comfort. The curved sectional sofa and plush rug below are sinkably soft and welcoming, while the minimalist setting ensures that form and function perfectly align.
For a seamless integration with the environment, every corner of this living area is filled with lush plants. A large palm and lanterns are a classic combination for the floor, while a ceramic basket filled with foliage feels almost like a sculpture. To finish, a small potted plant, woven throw, and couple coffee table books are a few small details that form a snuggly spot for laidback afternoons.
